I am equipped for walking in all weathers. I carry water in my vehicle and take a bottle on walks on hot days. I also carry towels and a portable shower for cleaning and drying off dogs after muddy or rainy walks.
Wherever possible, in hot weather I walk in shady, forest areas, on beaches or by rivers and lakes for my water loving clients. I may offer to change your walk to a time earlier or later in the day if I feel this will be better for the dog.
It is rare that I will need to cut a walk short due to weather, but if I feel it is in the best interest of the dogs in my care due to excessive weather, e.g; extreme heat, thunderstorms, gale force winds, ice or flooding, then I will end the walk. If I have had to cut a walk short, then where possible I will spend the time with your dog/s back at your house and will always ensure dogs have had plenty of opportunity to relieve themselves.
